A while ago someone asked me what an entrepreneur is. An entrepreneur is simply someone who invests their own money, often time as well, into a business with the view to making a return or achieving a certian goal, perhaps becoming a house-hold name, or being seen as an authority within their market, or maybe just to provide people with a product or service.
An entrepreneur often does not have a financial incentive to begin with, they often have a desire to achieve and to build something.
It does not matter so much how much money you invest in your own business, bare in mind investing in someone elses business, is simply called investing. Not entrepreneurship. You may invest $50, but if you have the view to turn that $50 into something, and stick at it, that is what makes you an entrepreneur.
What type of person is an entrepreneur?
- Someone who plans things
- Someone who likes to solve problems
- Someone who likes to succeed
- Someone who likes to help people
- Someone who likes to sell
- Someone who understands what customers need and want
- Someone who is not afraid to take risks
You do not have to be an entrepreneur to make a website, or a business. In-fact there are in-fact different types of entrepreneurs, so just a simple entrepreneur is only the start. There are in-fact serial entrepreneurs, Social entrepreneurs, Lifestyle entrepreneurs. An entrepreneur is not always someone who makes lot’s of money.
